Making a point: The former MLA Shamanur Shivashankarappa addressing students at a management fest in Davangere on Saturday. DAVANGERE: The former MLA and secretary of the Bapuji Education Association Shamanur Shivashankarappa has said that most management colleges in the country were better than those in the West. There was also demand for Indian management graduates in Western nations, he added. Participating in a fest organised by the Department of Management Education here on Saturday, Mr. Shivashankarappa said there was a time when students of the country had to go to the U.S. and elsewhere to study. He called upon management students to think of ways to developing the country further, and help eradicate social evils such as poverty and unemployment. Chief executive officer of H-Cube Inc. Vijay Dhuler said India was now the focus of the world, and many developed nations were looking to the country owing to its knowledge potential. He said companies in India showed a sense of responsibility and focussed on the interests of its shareholders, and hence were in business. He called upon students to be morally strong and advised them to stick to their beliefs. This would enhance business as well as create customer confidence.
