Women’s Day

BELLARY: The district unit of the Akhila Bharatiya Mahila Samskrutika Sanghatane celebrated the International Women’s Day here on Saturday. Member of the State unit of the Socialist Unity Centre of India K. Uma deplored the raw deal given to women in the country and the misuse of modern diagnostic equipment for carrying out female foeticide. Expressing concern over the decline in the sex ratio, she said it would have a severe impact on society. Ms. Uma underlined the need for proper security for women. She said atrocities on women were on the rise.
