HASSAN: A team of officials comprising the Deputy Commissioner is engaged in revision of the voters’ list, taking into account the changes brought about by the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission. It will be ready on Monday. According to the draft list, the number of voters in the district is 12,00,734. The field staff, who visited each house in the district, prepared the list, which is being scrutinised. Following the delimitation exercise, Gandsi Assembly constituency has disappeared from the electoral map, and its four hoblis have been attached to Arsikere, Belur and Hassan Assembly segments. Belur, earlier reserved for Scheduled Castes, is now a general constituency. Sakleshpur, earlier a general constituency, is now reserved for the Scheduled Castes. K.P. Honakeri, Headquarters Assistant to the Deputy Commissioner, said the district administration had received 35,072 applications for inclusion of names in the voters’ list, of which 32,108 had been accepted and 2,984 applications rejected. DeletionsAs many as 2,80,751 names would be deleted, he added.
