40 convicts shifted from Ara jail

Ara: Forty convicts were on Sunday shifted from Ara Jail here to Buxar Jail for security reasons after knives and cellular phones were seized from the jail wards, an official said.

A police team, led by a Magistrate Nidhan Pandey, earlier conducted search in different wards and cells of Ara Divisional Jail and seized four cellular phones, four knives and 35 stoves, the official said.

The authorities later shifted the convicts lodged in Ara Jail to Buxar this afternoon, Mr. Pandey said.
