Grievance redressal meet held

Rs.35,000 disbursed as compensation

Kakinada: The Consumer Grievances’ Redressal Forum of Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (EPDCL) has disposed off 735 petitions in the last three years and disbursed a sum of Rs.35,000 as compensation, according to forum chairman K. Nageswara Rao.
Addressing an awareness meeting organised by the forum here on Saturday, Nageswara Rao said the forum was constituted by the EPDCL in 2005 as per the instructions of the State Electricity Regulatory Commission. Since then the forum has been actively pursuing the consumer grievances and taking necessary steps to redress them.
Grievances can be sent to the Consumer Grievances Redressal Forum, EPDCL, VUDA Building, E Block, Udyog Bhavan, Siripuram Junction, Visakhapatnam. The consumers can represent their grievances in the form of post-cards and no grievance conveyed in any form would be charged by the EPDCL.
The forum is organising similar awareness meetings in the rural areas for the benefit of consumers, he added.
