BELLARY: In a hit-and-run case, a woman, 103 sheep and three donkeys were killed on the spot when a speeding lorry ran over them at a narrow bridge near Vakkrani camp in the outskirts of Bellary city in the early hours of Sunday. According to police, some shepherds, residents of neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, along with over 200 sheep, were moving towards Siruguppa. The deceased was identified as Lakshmi Devi (25). Thirty-five sheep have been injured. The Bellary (Rural) police rushed to the spot and cleared the traffic. Efforts are on to trace the vehicle. — Staff Correspondent
