DMRC starts new feeder bus service

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation will start a new feeder bus service from Kirti Nagar metro station from Monday. The service will cover Janakpuri D- Block, Lajwanti Garden Chowk, Mayapuri Industrial Area Phase-II, Mayapuri Road, Mayapuri Place Station, Mayapuri Industrial Area Phase-I, Government Press Mayapuri, DTC Mayapuri Depot and Kirti Nagar police station.

8 km route

According to a DMRC official, five buses will run on this 8 km route with a frequency of about 12 minutes. This route will be run on an experimental basis initially. “With the launch of this route, Delhi metro will now be covering an area of more than 100 km with a fleet of 85 feeder buses. The feeder service network is catering successfully to the residents of the eastern, western and northern parts of the Capital. The buses are running with an average ridership of 30 passengers per trip,” said the official.
