Camp organised on safe usage of LPG

Staff Reporter

COIMBATORE: About 250 women attended a camp on conservation and safe usage of LPG organised by Bharat Petroleum Corporation at its LPG Bottling Plant in Coimbatore on Saturday. Organised as part of the International Women’s Day celebrations, the camp aimed to make women aware of the safety measures that ought to be taken while handling LPG cylinders.

The visitors were shown how LPG was filled inside the cylinders. The safety measures adopted at the plant to ensure safety were also demonstrated. The importance of “Suraksha Hose” was also explained and the visitors were advised to use only “Suraksha Hose” in place of the old green rubber tube. More than 90 per cent of the LPG domestic accidents were caused due to rupture of the tube. An exhibition “Beyond LPG Products,” was organised.
