A press release from the Tribunal said that the first Lok Adalat was conducted on Friday in association with District Legal Services Authority.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Nagamuthu stressed the need for conducting more such Lok Adalats.

He also requested banks to consider sympathetically the “poor man’s” settlement requests. He also called for giving sufficient powers to bank officers attending Lok Adalats so that they could optimise the forum’s success.
