Stolen vehicles, revolver recovered Efforts on to nab other gang members NEW DELHI: Three persons allegedly involved in auto-theft and burglary cases have been arrested by the Delhi police. The police have recovered five stolen vehicles, besides a country-made revolver and a live cartridge, at their instance. According to the police, two persons travelling in a Maurti Zen car were stopped for questioning outside National Club at Lahori Gate in North Delhi on Saturday. On their personal search, one of the occupants – Mohammad Mousin – was allegedly found to be in possession of a country-made revolver following which he was arrested. The other suspect, identified as Mohammad Akhlaq, was also arrested and interrogated at length. Akhlaq allegedly disclosed that he, along with Mousin and another associate Saidab, had stolen the Maruti Zen from Chandni Chowk on January 1. Further, at his instance, the police arrested Mohammad Imran, who was allegedly found in possession of a stolen motorcycle. In all, the police have recovered two stolen Maruti cars, a two-wheeler scooter and a motorcycle. The police said Akhlaq was involved in at least 28 cases of auto-lifting and theft. He had shifted his base to Pandav Nagar in East Delhi to evade arrest. Despite shifting his base, he continued stealing vehicles along with his associates, the police said. Efforts are on to arrest Saidab and other members of the gang.
