Incident took place at a farmhouse where Ajay’s family had organised a function

NEW DELHI: Celebrations turned into a tragedy for the family of a 22-year-old man who was shot dead at a farmhouse in Alipur here on Saturday night, a day before he was to get married. The police have launched a hunt for the two accused. According to the police, the incident took place at Carnival Farmhouse where Ajay Maan’s family had organised a function for their relatives and close friends. Around midnight, Ajay received a call on his mobile phone following which he left for the parking lot telling his elder brother Andesh that he would be back soon.

Body found in parking lot

Minutes later a gunshot rang out and Ajay’s relatives rushed to the parking lot where they found him lying on the ground with blood oozing from his chest. He was rushed to Saroj Hospital in his new Honda City car. The doctors at the hospital could not revive him and he was declared dead on arrival.

Investigations by the police so far have revealed that when the celebrations were on, an altercation broke out between him and two persons Pradeep Khatri and Ravi Tyagi over some matter. Pradeep and Ravi then left the farmhouse in a huff. When they later spotted him at the parking lot, Ravi allegedly took out Pradeep’s gun from the latter’s vehicle and shot at Ajay in the chest. The accused, who are property dealers, then vanished from the scene.

Based on the complaint, the Alipur police have registered a murder case and are conducting raids for the accused. Ajay, who came from a well-to-do family, was to get married on Sunday.

His father is a retired bank manager.
