PUDUCHERRY: Doctors and paramedical staff of government and various private hospitals were quizzed on topics related to medicine at a Continuing Medical Education programme titled ‘Journey through medicine’ at St. Joseph’s Hospital (Cluny) on Sunday. Dr. Leo Gounalane, consultant physician of St. Joseph’s Hospital (Cluny), quizzed the participants on subjects such as inventions in the field of medicine and equipment used for diagnosis. Through slides, the photographs of scientists behind major inventions were showed to the participants. Questions associated with the clinical signs of diseases, pathological specimens and clinical examination to identify the cause of a medical problem were also posed through the slide presentation. Apart from the doctors and paramedical staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital (Cluny), those working at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College, Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Medical College, Arupadaiveedu Medical College, Indira Gandhi Government General Hospital and Postgraduate Institute and Government Chest Hospital participated in the programme.
