Students and members of cultural institutions, performers of other dance styles and interested individuals can participate in the workshop, explained Ms, Rani. The 10-year-old Kolkata-based centre for training in Kathak – Samskritiki Shreyaskar – opened its Orissa chapter in Bhubaneswar two years ago. Regular events“There have been regular performances, workshops and lecture-demonstrations at various centres in Orissa in collaboration with prominent cultural organisations of the State like the Kala Vikash Kendra of Cuttack, Bhubaneswar Music Circle and Orissa Dance Academy, Bhubaneswar,” revealed Ms. Rani, who was born in Pakistan and is married to an Oriya.
