ALAPPUZHA: A 22-year-old man was killed in a road accident here this afternoon. The deceased was identified as Sujith, an employee of a private firm in Kochi and a resident of Avalookunnu in Alappuzha. The accident occurred at around 1 p.m. when a sand-laden lorry hit the two-wheeler on which Sujith and his friend Binu were travelling near the Poonkavu junction. While Sujith, son of Chandrasenan, Killimangalam House, was killed on the spot, Binu sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment at the Alappuzha Medical College Hospital. — Staff Reporter
