Community interest groups to be formed in rural areas by March 15

Meet of Agriculture and allied departments to be held in Hanamkonda

ADILABAD: Seeds of different crops will be supplied on subsidy for the forthcoming kharif season in Adilabad district, according to the agriculture action plan for the next year.

It has been proposed to supply 75,000 quintals of soyabean seed, 30,000 quintals of maize and 10,000 quintals of pulses seed on subsidy, according to Adilabad Joint Director of Agriculture C. Sayanna.

He told reporters here on Monday that community interest groups will be formed in rural areas by March 15 in order to strengthen extension of services.

He said a regional-level conference of Agriculture and allied departments will be held in Hanamkonda on March 15 to discuss problems faced by the sector and remedial actions to be taken.

Action plan

Disclosing more details of the action plan, Mr. Sayanna said a training programme for ‘adarsha rythus’ will be held between April 24 and May 17.

The Rythu Chaitanya Yatras will be organised in the district between May 19 and June 4 while Rythu Sadassus will be held at divisional-level between June 7 and 11.
