Farmers clash

Muzaffarnagar: Farmers in the villages along the Uttar Pradesh-Haryana border on Monday clashed, triggering tension in the district, police said.

Farmers in villages Sader Ali, Noor, Majloob Ahmed, Salimuddin, Noor Ali alleged that the farmers from Haryana damaged their watermelon crops by setting the farms on fire. They forced the farm-owners out and occupied their land. According to the police, security has been tightened along the border of the two States as tension prevailed in the area.
