Staff Reporter

Nagercoil: Uneasy calm prevailed at Parvathipuram near here on Sunday night after unidentified persons threw stones at the Communist Party of India (Marxist) district headquarters office in Kanyakumari district.

The police are on the lookout for the miscreants. According to highly placed police sources, activists of the Bharatiya Janata Party threw stones at the CPI(M) office and damaged a vehicle parked in front of the office.

CPI(M) activists staged a demonstration near the Collectorate demanding action against the culprits. Unidentified persons felled the CPI(M) flagposts in different parts of the district.
