SINGAPORE: Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi was sworn in on Monday for another term, after he brushed aside calls that he resign for having failed to lead the ruling Barisan Nasional (B.N.) coalition to a two-thirds parliamentary majority in the general election held on March 8. As he took the oath in a function at the constitutional monarch’s palace, the Kuala Lumpur stock exchange registered a 10-percentage fall that even led to a suspension of trading for some time. The latest poll results reflected the B.N.’s worst-ever performances in the States and its worst showing at the federal level in nearly four decades. Mr. Abdullah himself commanded an unprecedented high of 199 seats in the previous Parliament of 219 members
