Players hail the show

BANGALORE: The day after the event, the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association officials had reasons to smile as the Canara Bank Bangalore Open, after early doubts, went off pretty smoothly with a house full show on the last two days.

“Our maiden effort in hosting a Tier II event went off well,” said Sunil Yajaman, Manager of the Bangalore Open. “The players were more than happy with hospitality,” said a KSLTA official.

Patty Schnyder said that she is going home for well deserved break. Venus Williams headed home back for the Indian Wells event, but Serena, who has an official engagement in Delhi, decided to fly to there first and plans to visit Agra, before returning home.
