Operations at new airport may be delayed

BANGALORE: The commencement of operations at the new international airport at Devanahalli, near here, which was scheduled for March 30, is likely to be postponed by a month. The Union Ministry is said to be unhappy with the progress of some of the crucial infrastructure — especially the ATC facility — at the airport.

Sources told The Hindu that top officials of the Civil Aviation Ministry and other officials, who met in Delhi on Monday, felt that setting up the facilities at the airport might take some more time.
