Girl among five held for kidnapping teenager

NEW DELHI: Five persons, including a girl and a minor boy, have been arrested by the Delhi police in connection with the kidnapping of a teenaged girl from Hari Nagar over the weekend. The police said, Om Prakash Walia received a call around 3-30 p.m. on Saturday in which the caller, identifying herself as Pooja, said that she wanted to meet his granddaughter to borrow some class notes. Mr. Walia allowed his 14-year-old granddaughter to go and meet Pooja. A few hours later, he received another call seeking Rs.50 lakh as ransom for safe release of the girl.
The arrested have been identified as Vipin Verma (23), Shilpi Rathore (19), Suraj Bhatia (20),Jatin Sharma (22) and a minor.
