Girl kidnapped

KORAPUT: Nikita Nayak, five-year-old daughter of Tularam Nayak of Kaudiaguda in Kundura block of Koraput district, has allegedly been kidnapped by one Prabhas Sing of Banapur in Khurda district. According to Tularam, Prabhas was working as a mason in Kundura region and was staying in Tularam’s house for the last two months. The little girl had been to Gupteswar on Shiv Ratri day with Prabhas, but did not return since then, police sources said. However, the family was shocked on Sunday when they received a telephone call from Prabhas demanding Rs.60,000 for release of Nikita. Kundura police began search for the little girl and teams have been sent to different destinations, sources said.
