Governor visits Rushikulya rookery

BERHAMPUR: Governor Murali Chandrakant Bhandare visited the Rushikulya rookery on Sunday night to witness the continuing mass nesting of Olive ridley turtles. Mass nesting of these rare marine turtles is continuing on a stretch of around five km of beach near the Rushikulya river mouth for the last six days. Mr Bhandare held discussions with the forest officials regarding the protection of the eggs laid by the mother turtles on the beach.
