Woman ‘kills’ husband
A 24-year-old man, who suffered serious burns after his wife allegedly set him afire at their residence at Nandanavanam Colony in L. B. Nagar on Monday last, succumbed to injuries at the OGH on Monday. B. Balamani reportedly set her husband Mallesh ablaze following dowry harassment. Her marriage was performed with Mallesh four years ago and the couple have two children. She is in police custody.
Found murdered
An unidentified woman was found murdered in the cellar of Reddy community hall under construction at Matsya Bollaram of Alwal on Monday. The victim’s dishevelled clothes and injuries on the body raised suspicions of she being sexually assaulted before being murdered. Absence of struggle marks at the spot suggested that the killers were known to the victim.
