BHUBANESWAR: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday said it helped artists, who were struggling to make a respectable living, earn over Rs. 10 lakhs after it took up wall painting to beatify the city. Over 50 painters were engaged for drawing different paintings based on rich cultural traditions of Orissa on boundary walls at prominent places of the capital city, BMC Commissioner Aparajita Sarangi said. The corporation had roped in private companies to take up 13 streets of the city for this unique wall painting, she said. Ms. Sarangi said the BMC planned to give new looks to boundary walls of 13 more streets .
