KANNUR: Applications are invited from industrial units, hospitals, hotels and local bodies for the State Pollution Control Award 2008. A press release issued by Kerala State Pollution Control Board (PCB) member secretary S.D. Jayaprasad said industries, hospitals having 200 or more beds and those having less than 200 beds, star hotels and resorts, and corporations, municipalities and panchayats could apply for the award. Industries, hospitals and hotels adjudged first and second in their respective groups would be given a cash prize of Rs.50,000 and Rs.25,000 respectively.The first and second prize winners among the municipalities would be awarded Rs.2 lakh and Rs.1 lakh respectively. The release said application forms would be available free-of-cost from the PCB head, regional and district offices. Last date for receipt of filled-in applications in triplicate in the board’s head office at Plamoodu Junction, Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram is March 15.
