KANNUR: The Kerala Handloom Association (KHA) has called upon the State government to speed up the work on the textile centre at Nadukani here and start the work of the proposed National Institute of Fashion Technology. The KHA demanded that as the Integrated Textile Park project in Palakkad was not progressing, it should be allotted to Kannur which was the only place in the State with full-fledged export-oriented textile activities. Newly elected office-bearers of the association for 2008-09 are P. Sudhakaran (president), Sunit Gupta (vice-president), P. Ramesh (secretary) and Sasidharan (treasurer). — Staff Reporter
