Kollam: The Muslim Aikya Vedi is organising a week-long celebration as part of Nabi Day observance at the Cantonment Maidan here from March 12. The programme will be inaugurated by Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan at a function to be presided over by vedi chairman Azad Rahim. P.H. Abdul Gafar Maulavi will deliver the keynote address. There will be religious discourses by eminent persons on all days. On March 20, Nabi Day, a rally and public meeting will also be held. Mr. Rahim said the vedi would organise awareness campaigns on the Sachar Committee report. The campaigns will be taken up by the Mahal Jam-aths, he said. Guidance bureaus for the purpose will also be opened.
