Only 20 per cent of SHGs receive Pavala Vaddi SHGs categorisation led to discrimination Sangareddy: All India Democratic Women’s Association State president Jyoti, addressing a public meeting here on Tuesday demanded the State government to allocate 30 per cent of funds to women in all the government funded programmes. She was here to welcome the state-wide Jata taken up for the Chalo Assembly programme on 19. She said that the government has failed to live up to the expectations of the people. She pointed out that only 20 per cent of all the 6.3 lakh self help groups received Pavala Vaddi facility and categorisation of SHGs has led to discrimination against the groups run by poor and illiterate women. AIDWA has been demanding removal of the classification clause. She further said that the paltry allocations for the housing in the State budget is an indication for the lack of sincerity on the part of the Congress government towards the housing issue. Pattana Pedala Sankshema Sangham State general secretary P.V.
