Kozhikode: BJP State president P.K. Krishnadas on Tuesday said the High Court order on the Fazal murder case vindicated his party’s stand that law and order had broken down in the State. Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Krishnadas said the court’s observation that Central forces should be deployed also justified the BJP’s demand in that regard since the party felt the State police had not been effective. “The High Court’s observation is a charge-sheet against the LDF government,” the BJP leader said. He also said the Congress-led UDF would not be able to wash its hands of the responsibilities for the spate of violence witnessed in Kannur district as its government had also failed to take effective action to crackdown on those involved in killings of BJP workers. Answering questions on the incidents involving BJP workers in front of CPI(M) office in New Delhi, Mr. Krishnadas said since the BJP was a national party it was natural nationwide protests took place when its workers were killed. The joint condemnation of the BJP in Parliament by the Congress and the CPI(M) proved the two parties had the same political agenda, he said. He said stones were pelted at the BJP demonstration when it was passing by the CPI(M)office. “Only a few widow panes of the CPI(M) office were broken. Certainly, lives of the BJP workers lost in Kannur were more valuable than the window panes that were broken at the CPI(M) office,” Mr. Krishnadas said.
