KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala said he would take retirement from politics after the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections slated for April 10. Talking to reporters at his hometown Biratnagar, Mr. Koirala said, “I will retire from politics after the polls. My health will not allow me to continue even if I want to,” said the octogenarian leader. He said he would handover leadership to the second generation leaders of the Nepali Congress. Mr. Koirala also expressed confidence that the election was now unstoppable. “No force, including the royalists, can disrupt the poll.” He also said the government had reached understanding with India to strengthen security along the porous border till the election. He said the government would not hold talks with armed groups operating in the Terai before the polls.
