Pushpagiri MC moves up

THIRUVALLA: Defending champion Pushpagiri Medical College, Tiruvalla and runner-up MOSC Medical College, Kolencherry moved into the semifinals of the third Mar Theophilos Inter-Medicos basketball tournament at the Pushpagiri Medical College floodlit Court here on Tuesday.

In the quarterfinals, host Pushpagiri Medical College defeated Amritha Institute of Medicine Sciences, Kochi 39-20. Jeril Thomas top scored with 16 points for the winner while Rahul Valsaraj top scored with 12 points for AIMS. MOSC Medical College crushed MES Medical College, Perthilmanna 43-17 in the other quarterfinal.
