HYDERABAD: The State government on Tuesday disclosed in the High Court names of six IAS cadre officers against whom Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) had recommended action. Justice N. V. Ramana granted two more weeks’ time to the government to furnish information regarding senior officers against whom there were reports from the ACB. The judge was dealing with the writ petition filed by Md. Shafiquzzaman, who is an IAS officer himself. He had approached the department under Right to Information Act seeking names of the officers who were proceeded against by the ACB and how the government dropped all the action. When it was rejected, he filed an appeal before the information commission. The government did not furnish the information after agreeing to do so following which the IAS officer filed the present writ petition. On an earlier occasion, the judge directed the government to file a counter affidavit and adjourned the matter. Last week, the judge granted time till Tuesday. The names of the officers disclosed by the government are B. Danam, Sunil Khatri, C. Umamalleswara Rao, Ch. Satyanarayana, A. Ramlaxman and M.V. Satyanarayana. The government dropped action against all of them at a later stage.
