Man allegedly beaten to death

MACHILIPATNAM: A 28-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death at his house at Sambalagudem near here and the police suspected the involvement of the victim’s cousin in the offence.
The victim was identified as Chappidi Srinivasa Rao, against whom the Chilakalapudi police opened a history sheet long back. The police said Rao entered into an argument with his cousin Chappidi Nani over a piece of land on Monday. The verbal duel soon turned out to be a scuffle and Nani reportedly thrown Rao on to a stone kept to mark the contours of the land. Rao sustained a severe head injury and was rushed to the Government hospital, where he succumbed to the injury in the early hours of Tuesday. Nani sped from the spot.
