Attackers use flower pots, break panes Police have been alerted all over the State HYDERABAD: Special teams have been formed to nab those responsible for the attack on Sundarayya Vignana Kendram, Home Minister K. Jana Reddy informed the Assembly on Tuesday. He condemned the incident while rejecting the Left parties’ charge of intelligence failure. He asserted that those behind the incident would be punished stringently. Police have been alerted all over the State to prevent any untoward incident. They have been asked to take precautionary measures and stringent action against law-breakers. The Minister said the Kendram’s watchman P. Anjaiah had lodged a complaint with the Chikkadpally police on Monday stating that seven persons who entered the building tried to pour kerosene on Putchalapalli Sundarayya’s portrait. He was injured when attacked with an iron rod after he tried to prevent them. The attackers used flower pots and broke glass panes. Four others who came to Anjaiah’s rescue were injured. Soon after the incident, CPI(M) and CPI leaders and workers staged a sit-in at the Kendram demanding action against BJP legislator G. Kishen Reddy.
