Three-day CBI custody for Nandas
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: A court here on Tuesday remanded arms dealer Suresh Nanda, accused of receiving kickbacks in the Barak missile deal, and his son Sanjeev Nanda to three-day CBI custody.
Both father and son, along with two others, were arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation last Saturday in Mumbai in connection with alleged manipulation of income tax records.
Special CBI judge I. K. Kochhar remanded chartered accountant Bipin Shah and Deputy Director (Income Tax) Ashutosh Verma also to three-day custody.
Earlier, counsel for the CBI said 10-day custody was required to confront the accused with the documents seized during the raids that followed the arrests.
