Sailor killed

NEW DELHI: A sailor was killed during routine maintenance of a warship at the Visakhapatnam naval base on Tuesday.

Petty Officer Mahapatra apparently lost his life after he got caught between the doors of a missile launcher while INS Ranjit was in an ‘alongside’ position at the base.

A court of enquiry has been ordered but sources said the sailor was caught while opening and shutting of the missile launcher door was being carried out.
