Strike to hit flight services

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: Arrival of flights from other places is likely to be affected at HAL Airport following the strike by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) employees, who launched an indefinite “non-cooperation movement” from Tuesday midnight.

According to AAI officials, the role of AAI employees at the airport is minimum and hence there would not be any problem in flights taking off. There could be delay or cancellation of flights arriving from other airports, they said.

Stanley Sampath Kumar, general secretary, Bangalore branch of the AAI Employees’ Union, said that all its 101 members would not attend to work despite invoking of ESMA against the striking employees.
