Kochi: A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court on Tuesday adjourned to April 9 the hearing on a batch of writ petitions against the sale of land in the Merchiston estate to the ISRO. The Bench comprising Chief Justice H.L. Dattu and Justice K.T. Sankaran directed the State government to file an affidavit in response to a writ petition filed by Xavi Mano Mathew, owner of the estate, challenging the order of the Custodian for the Ecologically Fragile Land and the Chief Conservator of Forests recalling the earlier order declaring that the estate was not an ecologically fragile land. Suspension withdrawn The Travancore Devaswom Board informed a Bench comprising Justice Kurian Joseph and Justice Harun-Al-Rashid that TDB president C.K. Guptan issued an order withdrawing the suspension of G. Jayakumar, an accounts officer in the board. In a petition challenging his suspension, the officer said he was a victim of the rivalry between the president and the board members. In view of the submission, the court closed the case.
