Showcasing the latest in IT

Kerala’s annual IT promotional event ‘Kerala IT.Com’ will be on at the Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram from Thursday to Saturday, bringing to the State several leading international and national companies to take a look at what the State has to offer for them.

Companies listed to attend the event include Sun Micro, Cisco, Infosys, IBM, IBS, Nest, NIIT, Intel, Wipro, Microsoft, Red Hat, Collabera, Sybase, Computer Associates, CMC, HP, 3i Infotech, DOEACC, Dell, Core Projects and TVS. They will also be putting on display their branded IT products at the exhibition that goes with the event. According to IT secretary Ajay Kumar, Kerala IT.Com 2008 will be one of the big IT exhibitions in the country in the matter of company participation. Public sector institutions such as State Bank of India and Centre for Development of Advanced Computing are also participating in the exhibition.

“The event will showcase latest technology trends to the industry here. It will also put on display Kerala’s attractions as an IT destination to the world outside. With what we have here to offer the companies, Kerala is sure to emerge into a global investment destination for IT industry soon,” Dr. Ajayakumar said.

The seminar sessions associated with the event will cover a wide range of topics relating to IT and e-governance. A National e-Governance Programme Advocacy Conference is also being organised in connection with Kerala IT.Com 2008. The theme of this conference, supported by the Union government’s Department of IT, is “Cutting edge and Viable Solutions through use of IT.” The conference will focus on topics such as service delivery infrastructure and capacity building, Kerala success stories and challenges, IT education and best practices. Several successful IT applications developed by the IT Mission with partner institutions will be highlighted.
