BIDAR: Arshed Ali, MLC, said that Narsinghrao Suryavanshi, MP, had been asked to take up with the Airport Authority of India (AAI) the issue of starting civil aviation operations from Bidar. In a statement here on Wednesday, Mr. Ali said a proposal had been forwarded to the AAI by the district administration on the issue. Mr. Ali said that acquisition of 125 acres of land adjoining the Bidar Air Force Station was under way. The district administration with the help of the Air Force station authorities had identified a building of about 10,000 sqft which could be used as temporary airport terminal, he said. Mr. Suryavanshi had met Governor Rameshwar Thakur and apprised him of the matter, he said. — Staff Correspondent
