Om Parkash Chautala was repeatedly interrupted by the ruling Congress and other members ‘Farm loan waiver is a misnomer of the Congress trying to get political mileage’ Chandigarh: Pandemonium prevailed in the Haryana Assembly for the third successive day on Wednesday leading to walkout by the opposition Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) after the former Chief Minister, Om Parkash Chautala, was repeatedly interrupted by the ruling Congress and other members while he was speaking on the Governor’s address. The ruling Congress and the opposition INLD before the commencement recalled the incident two days back when an INLD member Ramphal Chidana was suspended for the rest of the budget session after he and his colleagues virtually came to blows with a BSP member Arjan Singh during the discussion on Governor’s address. The two sides in a policy of let bygones be bygones revoked the suspension of Mr. Chidana with a hope that the proceedings, which were disrupted during the past two days, would be smooth in the House. But the peace was short-lived as Mr. Chautala led his members out of the House following repeated interruptions to him by various members belonging to the Congress and its associates when he was speaking on the Governor’s address. Mr. Chautala targeted the Congress on various issues ranging from describing the farm loan waiver as a misnomer of the Congress trying to get political mileage to other issues, including delay in completion of the SYL canal in Punjab to bring Haryana’s share of Ravi Beas water, shortage of water and power, flight of industry from the state and law and order situation. AllegationParliamentary Affairs Minister Randeep Surjewala and other members repeatedly rose on points of order to rebut Mr. Chautala’s allegation and blame him for various problems of the state. Those who interrupted Mr. Chautala include Irrigation Minister Ajay Yadav, Education Minister Mange Ram Gupta, Local Bodies minister A C Chaudhary and Naresh Yadav (Independent).- PTI
