Reservation sought for differently-abled women

Association seeks

five per cent quota in government departments, private sector


VILLUPURAM: The Villupuram District Physically Handicapped Social Service Welfare Association has sought three per cent reservation for differently-abled women in the State Assembly and the local bodies.

In a statement released here, Association president M. Ramesh noted that in connection with the International Women’s Day, the association recently took out a procession here to create awareness of the plight of the differently-abled women.

The association also called for five per cent job quota in the government departments and the private sector for the differently-abled women and adequate financial aid .
