BMC budget

BHUBANESWAR: Budget for the year 2008-09 of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) was fixed at Rs. 223.43 crores with a major thrust on development programmes of urban poor.

“We have earmarked 25 per cent of our budget for urban poor. Equal emphasis was given on capital work as well as solid waste management,” Sameer Mohanty, Chairman of Taxation, Finance and Accounts of the BMC, said.
