Says CPI(M) should shed reluctance to accept criticism Ridicules Congress for supporting the Left in Parliament ALAPPUZHA: Communist Party of India (Marxist) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan should be prosecuted for ‘instigating violence’ in Kannur and for ‘challenging’ the judiciary, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State general secretary M.T. Ramesh has said. Inaugurating a dharna and meeting organised by the Sangh Parivar and the BJP district committee here on Wednesday to protest against the violence ‘endorsed by the CPI(M)’ in Kannur, Mr. Ramesh said the State government or the High Court should charge a criminal case against Mr. Vijayan, who had ‘threatened and attempted to stifle the rights of the High Court for commenting on the law and order situation.’ Stating that the High Court’s comments should open everyone’s eyes, Mr. Ramesh said the BJP had been saying the same for the past several years. However, if the CPI(M) was in no mood to end its attempts to establish a bloody dictatorship in Kannur, the BJP would also not give up, he said. The ‘anger’ of Mr. Vijayan was proof enough to show that the CPI(M) was behind the violence. The CPI(M) and Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan should shed the reluctance to accept the criticism of the judiciary, he said. He ridiculed the Congress for joining hands with the Left in Parliament. BJP district president K.S. Rajan presided over the meeting.
