Subsidy for solar water heater

MALAPPURAM: The Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy will offer subsidy on solar water heaters set up for non-domestic purposes in the district. Water heaters set up in 2007-2008 for commercial purposes in hotels and lodgings, hospitals and orphanages will get the subsidy, which will be distributed through ANERT. Non-commercial institutions will get a subsidy of Rs.1,100 for a square metre. Commercial establishments will get Rs.825 for a square metre. Application forms are available at the ANERT office opposite the District Police Superintendent’s office here. The last date to apply is March 15. For details call 0483- 2730999. — Staff Reporter
