MG University Academic council: A meeting of the academic council on Wednesday decided to set up an expert committee to scrutinise whether the affiliated colleges complied with the directives of the respective national bodies, in their functioning. A resolution in this regard was moved by K. Sasikumar, Head of the Department of Commerce, in Kerala University. The 111-member body, which is meeting after a gap of over three years, approved nearly 280 decisions taken by Vice-Chancellors during the period when the body remained extinct. Today’s meeting also asked the Syndicate to constitute an expert committee to study the issues connected with recognising various programmes under the distance education mode. The council asked the Syndicate to bring the faculty at the self-financing institutions run by the university under the purview of the university statutes. Vice-Chancellor Jancy James chaired the meeting. Results announced: Second semester Master of Applied Sciences in Medical Biochemistry degree examinations held in June 2007; first and third semester BSc Biotechnology, Biochemistry and Microbiology degree examinations held in April 2007. Examination dates: Second year BSc MRT degree examinations (March 31); third semester MSc Applied Microbiology degree examinations (March 26); first semester M.Ed (credit and semester) degree examinations at School of Pedagogical Sciences (April 2). Mark list: Candidates can apply for the confidential mark list of the BTech. examinations held between December 2007 and February 2008. Applications forms can be had from examination store on the university campus.
