Rs.1.65 crore allotted for renovation of school buildings

Works to be completed before the end of current fiscal year
KARUR: All the panchayat union primary and high schools in Karur district would be renovated and basic amenities provided before the end of the current financial year under the Panchayat Union Schools Renovation Programme.
A sum of Rs.1.65 crore has been allotted for works.
It has been taken up under the Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam.
213 panchayat union primary schools and 13 panchayat union high schools would be covered, Collector T.N. Venkatesh has said.
Repairs
Whitewashing, roof and floor repairs, damaged window and doors replacement, plugging cracks in walls and other works would be taken up under the scheme.
The Collector noted in a press release issued here recently.
Special teams
Special teams comprising the panchayat president, head master of the school concerned and others have been formed to monitor the works, he added.
