Group houses for fishermen sought

PUDUCHERRY: The Puducherry Munnetra Congress has urged the Government to construct group houses for fishermen of Kuruskuppam in the Cassicade constituency.

Leading a delegation of fishermen, party vice-president K. Lakshminarayanan submitted a memorandum to the Lieutenant Governor on Wednesday, seeking him to intervene and take steps for construction of group houses in a vacant place donated to the fishermen by a philanthropist 35 years ago.

They also urged the Government not to allow the Karnataka Sabha to undertake any construction in the site.
