Group D employees may join strike

PUDUCHERRY: The Puducherry Government ‘D’ Group Employees’ Federation will join the strike if its demands are not met by March 20.

In a statement here on Wednesday, Vice-president R. Gunasekaran Raj said there were 350 permanent posts in the DP and AR cadre, and 160 posts of record keeper and 49 posts of telephone operator were vacant. The Chief Minister promised on February 15 that all the procedures to fill the vacancies had been completed, and orders would be issued by the third week of March.
